Bottom Line:The Pro 3500 by Proform (an Icon brand) comes in at $2,599 offering up a full range of Proform workout options; however, this machine failed to live up to its high-end price tag.
Thoughts:The Proform Pro 3500 is almost an exact replica of the $300 dollar less expensive Proform PRO 1500. There are only two main differences between these front-drive elliptical machines: minor cosmetic changes and the addition of more preset workouts to the PRO 3500 (48 total) over the PRO 1500's total of 24 presets. Due to their similar construction many of the PRO 1500's issues are just as apparent in the Pro 3500. We found the stride adjustment to be handy but at longer strides the machine tended to be more unstable. Instability was also found with the decline configuration and general elliptical motion. The drive-system was noisy and even the additional workout presets only added very subtle changes to each routine. It was the classic story of quantity over quality as we see with many Proform elliptical trainers. We'd recommend looking into a higher quality brand such as Life Fitness, Smooth Fitness, or Precor.
