Proform 510 E
Price: $599
Bottom Line:The 510 E elliptical trainer from Proform is an entry level machine designed to offer as many features as possible for the price point. While this machine may seem like a great value, it leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to stride quality, comfort, and durability.
Thoughts:The Proform 510 E elliptical trainer comes in as a seemingly robust entry level unit. However, this unit has a number of drawbacks that eclipse its pronounced feature set. The stride is very short giving this unit a workout feel more like a stair stepper than a true elliptical motion. The tracks are noisy, and the plastics seem very flimsy. The number of workout apps and resistance levels were impressive; however, there is a lack of variety which quickly distills the feature set. The 275lb weight capacity is decent for an entry level elliptical; however, the machine does not feel entirely stable during fast paced workouts. While this machine seems to pack a punch on paper, we found the feature set just was not enough to make up for the weak points in construction quality and usability. Consider purchasing a Precor, Smooth Fitness, or Life Fitness elliptical trainer as an alternative.
