Proform 18.0 RE
Price: $999
Bottom Line:The Proform 18.0 RE is an impressive machine on paper. With an adjustable stride out to 23", incline ramp, and 24 workout apps this unit packs a lot for users to enjoy. However, the rear drive system is a bit noisy and the ramp technology requires a lot of maintenance. Still, the 18.0 RE is a decent machine, but you may find a better value elsewhere.
Thoughts:The 18.0 RE rear drive elliptical trainer from Proform represents an entry level to mid-range unit. It includes an incline ramp with up to 40 degrees of incline, a number of workout programs, 22 resistance levels, and 325lb weight capacity. While all these features should up to an incredible machine and workout, we found some sore spots in the 18.0 RE. The stride is a bit off even when adjusted to suit the user. The machine has a side to side wobble at fast speeds and the display lacks contrast. With a 3 year parts, 1 year labor warranty, the 18.0 RE may be an enjoyable machine for a short period but don't expect this machine to last more than a few years. We found the machine was a bit of a letdown as we had high hopes after seeing the specifications.

Cons:
- Poor stride motion
