Bottom Line:The Precor EFX 835 is a commercial grade elliptical trainer that Precor is now selling for home use. This machine is one of the highest quality elliptical machines out there, but that quality comes at a high price.
Thoughts:The Precor EFX 835 is an incredible machine. The same design is used day after day at fitness clubs across the country. This unit will take whatever you can throw at it and will never let you down. It has a 13-40degree auto adjust cross ramp, advanced LED display, over 15 electronic readouts, a multitude of preset workout programs, and an extremely durable design. This elliptical machine will last a lifetime, workout after workout. We have a hard time finding any flaws with this machine, as every other elliptical out there strives to be like this machine. But the elephant in the room is the price tag. This machine offers a fitness club level workout, but unless the home user plans to operate this machine 24/7 than the expensive components, sturdy construction, and huge footprint, may not be worth the $7,495 price tag. Overall this machine was designed with constant fitness club abuse in mind. The Precor EFX 835 is built to last, but the home user will never even come close to pushing this machine to its mechanical limits. For the same money you could outfit your home gym with a high quality Smooth Fitness elliptical trainer, treadmill, and exercise bike and still spend less than purchasing this single Precor machine.
