NordicTrack FreeStrider 35 Si
Price: $2,499
Bottom Line:Offering a unique design and a generic set of features the NordicTrack FreeStrider 35 Si failed to impress us as an elliptical/stair-stepper hybrid.
Thoughts:The NordicTrack 35 Si fell into the same pitfalls as its less expensive counterpart, the FreeStrider 35 S. This elliptical trainer has a 300lb weight capacity, 16 resistance levels, a 25 built in workouts. Again, we found the claimed 35" elliptical stride motion to be misleading. This machine is an elliptical/stair-stepper hybrid. The 35" inches of stride travel is almost all in the vertical direction which, while offering a challenging workout when combined with elliptical motion; this type of hybrid motion of really leaves the user in a series of unnatural motions which caused joint-pain and overly-intensive workouts. This machine has a standard set of slightly varied preset workouts and an expected 16 levels of resistance. All in all NordicTrack 35 Si elliptical machine fails to deliver a complete elliptical or stair stepper experience. We’d recommend looking past this elliptical trainer as higher quality manufacturers such as Precor and Life Fitness have a lot more to offer within this price range.
