Life Fitness X1 Elliptical Trainer
Price: $1,999(Basic)/$2,299 (Advanced)
Bottom Line: Fixed 20" stride rear drive cross-trainer with a relatively flat ellipse pattern which is great for beginners or seniors.
Thoughts:Life Fitness has continued to make great fitness machines for over three decades and the X1 Elliptical Cross-Trainer is a great example of a home-fitness machine that deserves the Life Fitness name. The X1 has a reasonable set of features that are well integrated into the machine. Some of them include, wireless heart rate monitoring, whisper eStride technology, and a number of preset workout programs. We were very impressed with this entry level elliptical trainer; being designed for home use it maintained a compact frame, a 350lb user weight, and a comfortable elliptical motion. However, the $1,999 price tag is a lot to pay for an entry level elliptical trainer when other manufacturers, such as Smooth Fitness, offer the same level of quality at a lower price. All in all the X1 Elliptical Trainer from Life Fitness is a great entry level trainer designed for home use, but we'd recommend shopping around to find the best value for your money before deciding on the X1.
